Privacy Policy

What we collect

• What you send us to value: photos, descriptions, barcodes and listing links. We remove photo metadata (such as location and camera details) and delete the original upload after processing, within 24 hours at most.
• Your account: your email address, or your Google account name and email if you sign in with Google, and the settings you choose.
• Your age band: we ask your age range before your first photo upload. We store the band, never your date of birth.
• Your items: the results, collections, notes and watches you save.
• Payments: your plan, its status and renewal date. Card details are handled by our payment providers; we never see or store your card number.
• Approximate location: the country, region or city from your connection, or the place you pick, to price in the right market. We use your approximate city to find local prices. We don't store your exact location.
• Usage and diagnostics: pages and features used, and error reports, so we can fix problems. Analytics use no cookies and no identifiers.

How we use it

• To identify your item, find comparable sales and listings, and show the estimate and the evidence behind it.
• To keep your library, collections and watches, and to email you about a watch when you ask us to.
• To run your account, plan and payments, including trial reminders.
• To keep PriceSnap safe: preventing abuse, enforcing allowances and reviewing reported content.
• To improve PriceSnap from aggregate usage. We never use your photos to train or test AI without your permission.

AI providers

To identify items and research them, we send your photos and descriptions to OpenAI. It processes them only to answer our requests, and under its API terms it does not use them to train their models. If you decline AI processing, you can still describe an item yourself and use the parts of PriceSnap that do not need a third-party AI.

Who helps us run PriceSnap

• Vercel: hosting, and cookieless counts of page views and in-app events, without personal data.
• Google Cloud and Firebase: database, file storage and sign-in.
• OpenAI: item identification and research (see above).
• Resend: sending the emails you ask for, such as sign-in codes and watch alerts.
• Dodo Payments: web payments, as merchant of record (it is responsible for your payment data).
• Google Play and RevenueCat: subscriptions bought in our Android app.
• City names: GeoNames (CC-BY 4.0), kept on our own servers. City search and Use my location look up this list ourselves, so your search and your position aren't sent to anyone else, and your position is never stored.
• Sentry: error reports, without your name or email.
• Google AdSense: ads on our guides and checker pages only, never on your results, library or account. Google may set advertising cookies when ads load; in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent first. Choosing Reject in our cookie choices, or your browser's Global Privacy Control signal, turns ads off.

We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

• Original photo uploads: deleted after processing, within 24 hours at most.
• Guest results and photos: 30 days after your last visit.
• Account data, saved items and collections: until you delete them or your account.
• Research logs for a valuation: 90 days.
• Watch check history: 180 days.
• Payment and consent records: as long as the law requires us to keep them.
• Email: until you unsubscribe; after that we keep your address only on a do-not-email list.

Your choices and rights

You can view, edit and export your data, and delete items or your whole account, at any time and on any plan. The export includes your photos and a spreadsheet of your items.

You can turn ad cookies on or off at any time. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal from your browser.

You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it by emailing support@pricesnap.ai. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Deleting your account

Deleting your account removes your account, saved items, collections, photos and watches, cancels any web subscription and cannot be undone. A Google Play subscription must also be cancelled in Google Play. We keep a one-way record that the account was deleted so it can never come back from a backup.

Children

PriceSnap is not for children under 13. Under-13s cannot upload photos or create an account, and we do not show them personalised ads or send them marketing.

Sharing

When you share an item, the share page shows only the details you chose. You can turn a share link off at any time, and the page stops working within a minute.

Changes to this policy

We post any change here with its date. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we tell account holders by email first.
